Urbanscape Architects is a Toronto-based architectural studio dedicated to the future-forward development of civic communities. Founded by Ali Malek, Urbanscape is known for its context-driven approach to building. Under Malek’s leadership, the studio works collaboratively to explore the network of relationships for each community, including history, site, demographic, lifestyle, typology, materiality, and future plans. Consequently, each project is carefully considered and researched, evolving from the site’s context and the client’s goals and resources. The resulting architecture contributes to the healthy growth of contemporary precincts through innovative design solutions and sustainable construction best practices such as the use of renewable and recycled materials, reuse of building elements and systems with the dual objective of waste and cost reduction, utilization of efficient and sustainable energy systems; and green roof installations. By keeping each project's economic, ecological, and cultural context in mind, Urbanscape creates community-focused, environmentally-conscious architecture with lasting value that shapes how we experience the world.
